BioMechanical Structural Evaluation
The relationship between the muscle system and the skeletal structure is present in every movement you make. It is, in my opinion, an amazing and perfectly balanced pulley lever system designed to move a person through the physical plane of life. Understanding its connection and the effects every part plays in structural balance and pain free smooth movement is important. A structural evaluation is done to create an appropriate therapeutic session for the best outcome.
Neuromuscular Massage Therapy (NMT)
NMT is a highly specialized form of hands-on therapeutic massage that addresses pain and dysfunction by treating muscle adhesions, trigger points, and fascial (connective tissue) patterns that can be created in the muscular structure due to specific trauma, postural habits or repetitive movements. NMT uses deep tissue palpation to release tight fascia, decrease trigger points that may be causing referral pain, and release areas of stuck/adhered muscle tissue efficiently. The muscular area of pain and the surrounding muscles that are affected due to biomechanics and compensation are also evaluated and addressed. NMT will create more freedom of movement by creating length, eliminating ischemia and possible nerve compression, improving biomechanical function, and locating and decreasing unknown trigger points that contribute to pain patterns.
MyoFascial Trigger Point Release Therapy (TP)
Myofascial TP are knots that develop in the tissue that create a pattern of pain that spreads away from the original TP. Knowing the TP patterns and the original location is the first step. Applying digital pressure to the TP encourages a release, massaging the affected muscle and tendon creates more blood flow. Stretching and Ice Spray can also be helpful .
Rolfing - Structural Integration
Rolfing (also called Structural Integration) is a technique designed to align the postural structure with itself and gravity. By using touch and movement to manipulate the fascia (connective tissue) and stimulating the neuromuscular system, SI can begin to release lifelong patterns of tension and pain. SI can be a series of 10 sessions addressing the whole structure. It can also be integrated with NMT when appropriate to create an effective session to reduce pain and dysfunction significantly.
AIS Stretching (The Aaron Mattes Method)
The Active Isolated Stretching (AIS) method of muscle lengthening and fascial release is a type of athletic stretching technique that provides effective, dynamic, facilitated stretching of major muscle groups and provides functional and physiological restoration of superficial and deep fascial planes.
Sports Massage
Sports massage was designed for the physically active person and incorporates techniques that work to provide a deep and rehabilitating treatment through soft tissue massage to prevent injury, reduce muscle and tendon pain and tension, speeds recovery and eliminates muscular stress post athletic activity.
Deep Tissue Massage
Deep Tissue massage is a full-body therapeutic message that accesses the deeper layers of muscular tissue and surrounding structures in order to reduce muscular restriction. Relieving areas of pain and restoring movement without pain. This can also have a relaxing effect on the body physically and psychologically.
Therapeutic Massage
Therapeutic massage (also called medical message) is a positive outcome-based massage, primarily the application of a specific treatment targeted to relieve specific problems that a client presents with. Several techniques may be used to provide pain release.
Lymphatic Drainage Massage
Lymphatic drainage is a specialized technique to reduce inflammation and fluid retention in the lymphatic system.
Reflexology/Foot Massage
A direct hands-on therapy designed for the feet to help relieve the pain and stiffness that may be felt during standing or during activities, creating a better foundation for the entire physical structure.
Swedish Massage
Swedish Massage is designed to relax the entire body by massaging the muscles with gliding strokes towards the heart. It calms the nervous system and relaxes the muscles, de-stressing the body and creating total relaxation.
